Nigeria reached the final of the men’s category of the 2018 All Africa Men and Women’s Badminton Championships in Algeria after beating Ghana 3-1 in the semifinals on Wednesday.
They will play Algeria in the final.
Meanwhile, Dorcas Adesokan will on Thursday lead Nigeria against Mauritius in the women’s final after beating Egypt 3-2 in the semifinal.
Clement Krobapor led Anuoluwapo Opeyori, Godwin Olufua, Enejoh Abah, Habeeb Bello and Usman Isiaq to victory against the Ghanaians.
Krobapor won Nigeria’s first point after defeating Ghana’s Emmanuel Donkor. Opeyori extended the lead with another singles victory over Abraham Ayittey but Ghana came back into the tie when Daniel Sam defeated Abah.
Krobapor and Opeyori ensured Nigeria got the victory after they defeated Ghana duo Ayittey and Michael Baah in the doubles.
